People Ops Generalist & Recruiter

What is this position all about?

In this role, you’d be the company’s first People Ops hire. You’d help us meet our hiring goals and make Jottful an amazing place to work.
This is a generalist role with abundant opportunities for growth and specialization as the company scales.

Responsibilities

Recruiting (>50% of the role)

  • Source and screen diverse candidates for positions across our company
  • Train team members on how to interview candidates
  • Track and report on recruiting metrics

HR & Benefits Admin

  • Set up new hires on payroll
  • Manage benefits administration (medical, dental, perks)
  • Develop an employee handbook
  • Maintain employee records in electronic and paper form
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations, including workers compensation

Onboarding, Development & Culture

  • Make sure new hires feel welcome and ramp up quickly
  • Help organize orientation, training, and development initiatives
  • Organize performance reviews
  • Plan team-building activities

 Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years previous experience in a People Ops or HR Generalist role
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
  • Excellent communication and people skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have worked at a high-growth company

Cash compensation for this role is $45,000 – $50,000, depending on equity compensation. The position is remote. Flexible schedule with limited travel.
