A value proposition answers the big question: Why should someone choose your business? It should be clear, compelling, and focused on what truly sets you apart. Here’s how to write one that connects.
1. Focus on the benefit, not just the feature

Don’t just say what you offer — explain how it helps. For example, instead of just saying “We make websites,” at Jottful “We make professional websites that are easy and affordable for small businesses.”
2. Be specific, not vague
Generic claims like “great service” don’t stand out. What exactly makes your service great? Be bold about it.
3. Know what makes you different
Why would someone pick you over a competitor? Your value proposition should highlight your unique approach or advantage.
4. Keep it short and sweet
A good value proposition is easy to remember and quick to read. Aim for 1–2 sentences, max.
5. Test and tweak it
Try it out in conversations, emails, or headlines. If it doesn’t click with people, revise until it does.
💡 WEBSITE INSIGHT: Make sure your value proposition is front and center on your homepage — ideally in the first sentence or headline.
