The right words can transform your message from ordinary to memorable. How do I know? Well, we’re in the same boat — I, too, am a small business owner and understand the challenges of running a business while wearing many hats and the need for concise, clear and memorable messaging. What sets us apart is that my business is the business of words. I spend my days putting my clients goals into creative copy, to help them attract new business and keep them in the forefront of their industry.

As a content strategist and writer, I cover all the bases from curating the right navigation and writing creative copy for websites; managing social media accounts by crafting timely and catchy posts; ghostwriting blogs and articles for thought leaders and disseminating them to gain publicity; editing copy to ensure concise and targeted messages; and creating newsletter copy that makes the audience want to open their e-mails and read them (not send to spam!). While those are some of my regular tasks, I have also written coursework for a continuing education organization and am currently editing a book for a client. Throughout my 20+ year career, I’ve worked with clients in many industries: healthcare, commercial real estate, health and wellness, financial services, defense contracting, and education, to name a few. Some of the most interesting clients have been a local brewery, a national award-winning craft whiskey distillery and a pet photographer. I haven’t met a topic I don’t like to tackle and love to research.

In my free time, I write for a community lifestyle magazine and enjoy learning about my community. (Which has its pro’s and con’s — I learn about many local organizations that give back and like to volunteer with them, and I also almost always wind up patronizing the businesses and restaurants I write about.)
